This quest called: The Cursed Tribe (Lvl 9) can be obtained by talking to Atub at Largashbur. The tribe is suffering due to a weak chieftain, and they have lost the favor of Malacath who is the Daedric Prince of the spurned and the ostracized, the keeper of the Sworn Oath, and the Bloody Curse. It is said to have been created by the Dwemer of the now-abandoned clan of Rourken, hundreds of years before they disappeared from Tamriel. This hammer was thrown by the Dwemer leader, King Rourken and wherever it landed in Tamriel, it would be where they would settle at. This warhammer landed in Hammerfell, henceforth the name of the region. Precisely it landed in Volenfell in the Alik'r Desert region near the city of Kozanset. Sentinel, the homeland of the Redguards is one of the closest capital cities to Volenfell. How Malacath got in possession of this weapon is unknown but it wasn't known until the Third Era. In the Second Era, Sheogorath the Daedric Prince of Madness had it in his possession, and released it in Cyrodiil. It was released during the Three Faction War between the Aldemeri Dominion, the Daggerfall Covenant, and the Ebonheart Pact. He did so to cause more chaos between the three factions. It would grant any warrior the ability to blow destructive swings which destroyed anything in its path while draining the user of his, or her life essence. In the Third Era, it became Malacath's daedric artifact, and would serve to be a reward for his champions. The association is still unclear. Volendrung was obtained by the Hero of Daggerfall by summoning Malacath on the 8th of Frostfall as the hero was tasked to kill a Daedra Seducer. During the Oblivion Crisis in the Third Era, the Hero of Kvatch obtained the Volendrung at the Gold Coast. And now in the Fourth Era, Malacath gave it to the Dragonborn after saving the orc town of Largashbur. Volendrung absorb 50 points of Stamina on hits which is useful on the ever so draining use of warhammers. I just wanted to show you my VR perspective of this quest.
