Manjaro Linux 5.5 - Star Citizen, mangoHUD, Proton-ge-custom, Ryzen 9 3900X, Vega 64
A day ago a new mesa 20 update started conflicting with my old Ubuntu 18.04 libs it seemed and ruined my desktop layout in a system-wide uninstall. So I used that momentum and made the switch to Manjaro Budgie. The install needed some tinkering since the image on manjaro seems to be quiet old, but everything worked out in the end. Manjaro and Arch-like systems somehow feel way more cleaned up for a hobby coder used to C and I like it.
I compiled the xanmod kernel in version 5.5 by Alexandre Frade and launched SC with the latest wine-proton 5.0 by GloriousEggroll. Additionally I added mangoHUD what is just awesome, by flightlessmango.

If you download proton there is an archive inside which contains wine. You need to untar its contents to your ~.local/share/lutris/runners/wine folder.
Manjaro delivers a massive increase in fps for me over Ubuntu, I am nearly always around 60 fps now. Streaming the game drags the fps down by 5 - 10 fps.
This was definitly worth the try :)
