Mappy Famicom / NES CRT TV Playthrough asmr
1Released 11/14/1984, Mappy is an excellent port of the Namco arcade original. Detailed sprites, creative designs, and unique gameplay ensure Mappy will always be a classic.
You play as a mouse chasing cats, trying to retrieve stolen goods in their flophouse. However, you are no ordinary mouse, you are a cop (or "mappo" in Japanese). You use your voice to clear floors (making you sound bigger than you are!), and you can "accidentally" knock over druggy yellow-eyed pink cats by opening up doors. There are many subtle jokes in this game, but most of them wouldn't fly in America where the NES is aimed at kids. This explains why the port never made it to the U.S., which is a shame because this is an excellent game.
I am considering a playthrough to be beating the Hi-Score. I played on an original NES with a Game Genie adapter (see Shorts) to allow for playing a Famicom cartridge. I am using a NES Advantage controller, RCA cables, and a Sharp X-Flat 27" CRT TV.
