This is a pack containing about 1800 textures in Mario Kart Wii upscaled 4 times using an AI image upscaler. My main goal was to see if it was possible to use only the original textures from the game to make an HD texture pack that still maintained the original art style of the game since most HD texture packs I found made heavier changes to the UI or tracks than I would like.
The end result I would call somewhere between SD and HD with most textures featuring more fidelity, but not quite HD fidelity. It seems more like somebody hand painted the textures rather than the actual materials they'd be updated for. However, I still find it brings a nicer level of fidelity to the game than it otherwise has, especially to the UI even if it's not exactly the biggest change in the world. It especially looks good when playing in Dolphin VR although I need to disable some of the effects upgrades to get it working at a stable framerate in virtual reality.
