Marisa is like a less complicated version of the Watcher from Slay the Spire. She has the Watcher's Scry mechanic and if you're lucky enough to pick up certain Rare cards (like Navigation Star, Astrology and Premeditation) you can even use a full Scry focused deck. However, Scrying is not actually Marisa's main gimmick.

Marisa-A is all about generating Unstable Potions. It's hard to explain the full gimmick, but Unstable Potions are basically free draws that give free energy and damage against bosses. It's hard to play without specific cards synergizing with the mechanic, but if you can get those cards it's very funny. You will make 1 draw and then Marisa hurls 7 potions at a boss. Scry is really helpful for an Unstable Potion deck, since you can use it to cycle through your deck quickly. You can also use Scry to discard Unstable Potions (in case you're using Marisa's Firework card that scales off number of Unstable Potions).

Marisa-B is like Cirno-A except balanced better. Cirno has to run her offensive plays off of expensive-to-play Cold cards that Exhaust themselves when used. Marisa, on the other hand, just needs to build 8 Charges (it helps that these Charge cards don't exhaust themselves) and when she does get those charges, she gets free mana and a damage boost. She doesn't suddenly become Reimu-level easy to use, but you can out-DPS bosses. tl;dr -Danmaku- Marisa-B is all about Firepower
