Reimu vs True Final Boss, Hard Mode (Touhou: Lost Branch of Legend EARLY ACCESS)
On a regular run of Lost Branch of Legend, the game ends after beating one of the Stage 3 bosses (Remilia, Sanae or Junko). Beating one of those bosses still counts as a clear, but if you want to fight the the superboss you need to complete a few steps.
You can:
-Complete the main quest. In each stage there is an NPC that you cannot avoid (Reisen in Stage 1, Rinnosuke in Stage 2 and Sumireko in Stage 3). Reisen always offers a fixed item when you meet her in Stage 1. If you take that item to Rinnosuke in Stage 2, he will offer a trade, and if you accept Rinnosuke's item in Stage 2, you can go to Sumireko in Stage 3, who will offer a trade as well. Accept Sumireko's trade and you can trade with Yukari (who you can meet in any Gap / Resting Spot after meeting with Sumireko). If you did it correctly, Yukari gets Eyedrops while you get the Border Sensor, which allows you to access the Extra Stage / superboss.
tl;dr Get Reisen's first Exhibit in Stage 1, trade with Rinnosuke in Stage 2, trade with Sumireko in Stage 3 and then trade with Yukari in any of the Gaps after meeting Sumireko.
-The other way of getting to the superboss is good RNG. One of the random events in Stage 3 is "Doremy decides to send you directly to the culprit". This will automatically throw you into the Stage 3 boss fight and if you beat the Stage 3 boss, you go to the Extra Stage. This can be good if you're ready for the final boss, and bad if you're not.
You can fight Seija so long as you fulfill these conditions and are playing on Normal difficulty or higher. The superboss herself, Seija, is pretty nasty. She may look easy in this fight, but that's only because I had an extremely busted Reimu deck.
(Last time I did this fight on Normal, she had this whole phase where she continuously summoned enemies. Don't know if I damaged her enough to skip it here, or if she just goes straight to thievery on Hard)
I actually got close to hitting her damage cap (you basically can't do more than 300 damage in a turn against Seija). Seija also had zero shot of killing Reimu between all the Barrier generation AND Falling Moon Rabbit (which gives Flawless aka Lost Branch of Legend's name for Intangible).
Anyway, Lost Branch of Legend is pretty fun. I'll probably play more when Koishi is properly added to the game.
