Sakuya-A vs Sanae (Touhou: Lost Branch of Legend EARLY ACCESS)
Sakuya seems to be the most mechanically unique character in Lost Branch of Legend. It's unfortunate that I wasn't really able to showcase her more unique mechanics in this video.
Sakuya-A is a bit reminiscent of the Silent. Instead of Shivs, Sakuya has Throwing Knives and Sakuya can generate a lot of Throwing Knives. She's not 1 to 1 with the Silent. Throwing Knives are expensive to use (while Shivs cost 0 to play), though Throwing Knives also automatically play themselves if they're in your hand (16 damage if properly used vs 6 damage if left in hand). There are combo plays Sakuya can run (like an Attack that gets stronger the bigger your Exhaust pile / Throwing Knife graveyard is) but they're really not that similar (which was a huge disappointment, since I really like the Silent).
Sakuya-B is a lot more unique. Her Spellcard (and her other rare cards) let Sakuya get extra turns. There's also this entire Time Pulse mechanic I never really got the hang of.
Unfortunately, I'm not galaxy brained enough to play Sakuya-B. I instead ended up with a Throwing Knife spam deck that is best described as "Sakuya Has Reimu's Yin Yang Orbs at Home". Actually that's not true, this deck did have one other trick: it could use "Lunar Rainbow Market" to convert all the Throwing Knives into other, random cards.
Unfortunately, the "Lunar Rainbow Market" was not good for this fight. What would happen is that LRM would generate new, random cards in my hand whenever a Throwing Knife was played. Some of the cards could be good, but it was bad overall because "no Throwing Knife = no Barrier generated off Throwing Knife = no Barrier = dead Sakuya". Yeah I admit it, I reset this fight a few times. Cannot stress enough how ghetto this deck was.
