The true 'prologue' to Marvel Infinity War! I thought I'd take a trip back in time and remind myself of the original First Alliance games, using Replay Mode so I had access to the full roster. As a fan of fast acrobatic and evasive characters, Nightcrawler is one of my favorite heroes to play as. As always I used Infinite Lives to make sure I showed the whole game (and because it's the only way to actually beat/finish a ZVitor game...)

I was surprised to discover that the MP bar was used only for dodge and for the hyper move, with the regular special move being free to use. It was certainly appreciated given how frustrating these games are, haha.

Nightcrawler definitely improved in Infinity War. His hyper move can actually hit things unlike in this game where he seems to miss a lot for seemingly no reason, lol. His fundamentals are generally the same and so it was easy to pick him back up again.

There wasn't actually as much difference in the stages as I expected, with some even feeling copy-pasted into Infinity War with no change at all, so it's very cool that ZVitor is updating a bunch of the stages in the latest release of Infinity War with new aesthetics and such :)

I forgot what a menace ranged enemies were in the old game, with their shots being fast and almost unavoidable. I'm very glad that was changed in Infinity War to be more fair :)

One thing certainly hasn't changed and that's the enemies having way more advantage than the player has. Their hurtboxes always feel tiny compared to mine (especially dinosaurs. How do you be that big, but so hard to hit!?) It's hilarious to me that Nightcrawler, a badass mutant, can teleport and IMMEDIATELY get smacked in the face by a basic mook. Like, what kind of reflex training do these generic soldiers get that they can somehow take a teleporter by surprise before he can hit them? Basic enemies in general always feel way too fast and able to insta-punch you no matter what you're doing. You're playing as a superhero but it does not feel like it during these moments because basic enemies just slap you around like you're nothing, and it's an issue in pretty much every ZVitor game.

Regardless, it was fun to take a trip back in time, but it certainly showed that Infinity War is the worthy successor and improved on many things. Very much looking forward to the release.
