Marvel Super Heroes - Sega Saturn - Intro & Arcade 1CC Playthrough as Spiderman with 1MB [1080p60]
Full gameplay longplay / playthrough / walkthrough / guide / trueplay of the Sega Saturn port of the CPS2 arcade from Capcom as Spiderman / Spider-Man on a one credit clear. Arguably the best and purest of Capcom's Marvel fighting games. This was the last game in the series to only feature Marvel characters on the main roster and to remain a true one on one fighter. Of all the Marvel games Marvel Super Heroes features the most frames of animation per character as a result of this even the Saturn couldn't quite managed an arcade perfect port without some help. So Capcom opted to add in support for the 1MB cartridge to enable almost all of the arcade animation.
The game features 12 characters in the PAL version Blackheart, Captain America, Doctor Doom, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, Juggernaut, Magneto, Psylocke, Shuma-Gorath, Spider-Man, Thanos and Wolverine. With the Japanese version including an extra character Anita.
The Saturn port suffered from a rushed released and as a result the game suffers from some major slowdown in places. Ironically this is made even worse when choosing to add in all the extra animation, it's still very playable but not the arcade perfect port fans would have liked. The slowdown is made even worse when using either the 4MB or an unofficial RAM cartridge. As you can see from this video for smaller characters the match speed remains fairly stable, but when fighting characters like Hulk & Blackheart it kicks into a whole different level.
For this video we are using the European release of the game and the official Sega 1MB RAM expansion cartridge, loading times and menus have been left in their entirety. While performance wise there is no real different between the three versions of the game. Anita from Darkstalkers is a playable hidden character in the Japanese version whom was removed from both western releases. While Capcom never confirm why she was removed, it is believed that this would have had a major impact on the rating of the game had she been included. There's also some speculation Marvel also didn't want their super hero characters fighting a little girl. You can watch out playthrough as Anita here: https://youtu.be/pBcQsPgMvw8
Marvel Super Heroes is currently only available on the original PlayStation and the Sega Saturn. Marvel Super Heroes was available on PS3 and Xbox 360 as part of the Marvel vs. Capcom Origins collection, however this has since been delisted and there is now no legal way to obtain this collection. Leaving the Saturn port the best of the two ports currently available to buy. Full trueplay / playthrough / longplay as Spider-man with intro, ending and credits.
