Outtrigger - Sega Dreamcast - Intro, Arcade Novice Playthrough & Mission Mode Gameplay [HD 1080p60]
25First half of the video covers the fairly boring arcade mode with a full gameplay longplay, playthrough, walkthrough, guide & trueplay of the novice arcade ladder as Jay. While the second half covering the more fun mission mode as Lina. Home port of AM2's arcade game, Outtrigger was an attempt to bring the first person shooter genre to the arcade. Nice idea in concept, in reality it ended up as a rather dull arcade shooter with only one objective.
The Dreamcast port of Outtrigger adds in a mission mode which greatly improves the single player, but there still isn't a huge amount of content here even with the added modes. Quickly forcing players into the VS or online mode (Removed from the European release) which don't hold you for long either. Outtrigger is far to short for its own good, suffers from weak controls and tiny combat arenas. Ultimately Outtrigger was out gunned (forgive the pun) on release by the 1999 PC games Quake III Arena and Unreal Tournament, even if the Dreamcast port of the latter game was a bit rubbish. Dreamcast FPS fans would be better off with Quake III Arena or for something a bit different to the standard FPS go for Maken X.
