Are we REALLY sure the military hasn't been in contact with the Colonists, yet? With how they're teleporting out of thin air the moment I sound the alarm in this section, you'd think they already have exchanged technologies and shook hands with the funny space aliens.

Sure would also explain why they could shoot through walls in my previous encounters with them. Alien x-ray, environment piercing technology, and id tagged weapons so I can't just pick up their MP5/M203s. It's the only logical explanation.
