Maximum Pool - SEGA Dreamcast - Match & Gameplay of Eight Ball Pool, Cutthroat & Snooker [4K60]
Sierra Sports Maximum Pool is another region exclusive game for Dreamcast this time from North America. As the only other cue sports game on the Dreamcast Jimmy White's 2: Cueball only released in Europe, it's interesting to compare the two. While Maximum Pool, has rather poor presentation it does feature far more games and online play than Jimmy White's 2. Mode wise it includes Basic Pocket Billiards, Carom Billiards, Cutthroat, Eight Ball, Nine Ball, Rotation & Snooker.
Graphics and sound are decent for the time, but nothing special. The controls are also somewhat awkward for a pool game and take a little while to learn. The A.I. has a decent spread with the different characters including Buddy the dog. While the hardest A.I. is unstoppable at pool, it doesn't seem to know how to play Snooker all that well. By all account you need to play this online with friends to get the most out of it.
