Gameplay longplay, playthrough walkthrough, guide to the second title in Akira Grand Master Tetris series, which is the toughest game of Tetris out there. As the original has recently released via the arcade archives we take a look at the second arcade version. This is the first release which includes normal and master modes. A later plus arcade upgrade was also made that added three additional modes. Normal mode is fairly straightforward adding in a few new power up block. The main addition in this one is a hard/dead drop feature, where if you tap up of the arcade stick, it locks the piece into the bottom straight away.
The main selling point of the series is the master mode, where the game ranks you on your performance, with blocks dropping faster and faster until they become uncontrollable. Only highly skilled players will be able to handle the blocks at higher speeds. At the end it grades players and only the best will score the top ranks. Getting the rank just down to 1 is tough enough.
The end result is a version of Tetris that is highly addictive as you attempt to get the best scores going and you will often find your saying one more go as you try and improve your rank.
Tetris The Absolute The Grand Master 2 is currently not available on any other format, we can only hope it gets a re-release at some point in the future.
