Tekken 3 - Dreamcast - PlayStation game using Bleem, Intro, Hwoarang longplay & Comparison [4K]
Full gameplay longplay, playthrough walkthrough, guide and trueplay of arcade mode as Hwoarang the PS1 title Tekken 3 using the Bleem emulator disc for the game. Footage is captured using the PAL version and for a short comparison at the end of the video we have a split screen look at the combat intro of both versions side by side, using real hardware of a PAL PS1 and Dreamcast. We will grab a copy of either the NTSC USA or Japanese version of the game before we look at it more.
Ground breaking at the time, Bleem didn't last long as Sony were quick to get their lawyer involved and in the end the project was shut down. Only three games officially supported it and each had their own disc needed in order to run, the three games were Gran Turismo 2, Metal Gear Solid and Tekken 3. This video shows all the intros along with a full playthrough as Hwoarang and a short splitscreen comparison at the end.
While the emulation may not be 100% perfect, unlike many other early emulators it is very very closes and many would argue that the improvements make it better to play than on the PS1 itself. There are a few more graphics bugs we noticed as these can be seen in the intro with the sky box and environment joins, being seen. The auto save doesn't seems to working 100% of the time and the manual save is the better option.
On released Tekken 3 looked a visually dated game in arcades and got taken apart by Virtua Fighter 3 in the graphics department. Gameplay wise, however this third outing included many improvements to the previous Tekken games, packed full of extra characters and modes on the home release. While the PS1 version had to removed the 3D arcade backgrounds, so elements like the helicopter on King's stage got axed. While the arcade version was included on Tekken 5 for the PS2. The amount of extra content in this version means this home port ends up being a better game overall.
Comparison at the end of the video is the PAL version of the game captured on a Dreamcast and a PSOne (PS1) with no extra features running.
