May the Battlegrounds Circle Be Unbroken!
0I'm terrible at multiplayer modes and just don't have enough of a competitive spirit to find endless online matches to be meaningful in the long run. That said, I obviously needed to check out the huge Internet sensation known as Playerunknown's Battlegrounds for myself. While there's nothing here that would make me spend 100 hours trying to climb to the top of the murder ladder, the game's clever structure with its gradually shrinking playing area ensures that most players will experience wonderfully tense skirmishes on a fairly regular basis. The rest of the game - i.e. collecting loot in identical-looking houses and running across empty fields - isn't nearly as great, but with the spectacular success of PUBG so far it's going to be interesting to see how the Battlegrounds formula continues to develop over the coming months and years...
