This is a comparison of MDK 2 for the Sony Playstation 2 and the Sega Dreamcast.

This is one where DC fans get to thumb their noses at PS2 fans. Granted, the DC version doesn't look worlds better (as some would have you believe), but not only does it have sharper textures, it also has better lighting (which is rare in these comparisons). It's also the version I've owned longer of the two.

For some reason, I captured the PS2 footage first, and I put it on easy. I should have remembered that the DC version has no difficulty settings, it's just, by default, one of the most difficult games on the DC. When they ported the game to the PS2, they added difficulty options so even sucky gamers could beat it whereas the DC version has become a badge of honor of sorts for DC fans.

Any version is worth looking into. It's available on the PC, DC, PS2, and it looks to also be on Wiiware. It's still a unique experience to this day.


BTW, this game comes from the good people at a little company called Bioware. The original was made by Shiny of Earthworm Jim fame.


NOTE: For this comparison I'm using a S-Video cable for the PS2, and S-Video through the VGA Box for the Dreamcast.
