Philosophy:

Sacrifice armor for extra ammunition. Use the terrain to evade enemies, always try to flank the enemy, and close in with heavier mechs. Use obstacles, like buildings, hills, mountains, and other mechs to close in on the enemy. Never charge towards larger mechs on open ground, or you will be decimated very quickly. Closing in with heavier mechs gives you a distinct advantage over heavier mechs, because they cannot turn faster than you can run. This means, they can't train their weapons on you which will allow you to escape. After you evade your enemy, pick the best tactical advantage to strike again. Then, get out of sight. Light mechs are good at harassing larger enemy mechs. In the long run, you can wear them down, and destroy them. If things get too hot, you can just escape with your superior speed. Use obstacles, like buildings, hills, mountains, and other mechs to close in on the enemy.

Review of Jenner:

The Jenner is a 35 ton mech, and the standard Jenner came with 4 medium lasers and 1 SRM 4. I didn't like the standard setup for several reasons. The first was the heat 4 medium lasers generated, and the second was the longer intervals of beam focus for medium lasers in close quarter combat. For these reasons, I modified my mech to take 4 small lasers, removed most of the heat sinks, and added more ammunition for the SRM 6. The SRM 6 does respectable damage to enemy mechs at close ranges, and the small lasers are great for flank attacks where the armor is weakest. You can also use the SRM 6 to breach the armor of heavier mechs, and you can focus your small lasers on the weakest point. The shorter beam focus is ideal for close quarter hit and run attacks. The most ideal place to strike would be near a hill or a city where you can use your speed to escape and strike again and again!

Another great advantage of the small lasers is that these weapon recycle quickly. This translates to more strikes per pass, and the SRM 6s give you additional punk to deliver that knockout blow.
