A lot better than the first, Warfighter follows a much more Battlefield like experience, while at the same time using the Frostbite 2 engine that BF3 runs on. This results in a gorgeous game with amazing gunplay and movement along with great performance.

Some of the things I enjoyed was the ability to lean dynamically in all directions, controllable with the analog sticks and was also features in some of the older Medal of Honor games. I liked how the swapping optics was bound to the R3 button, making it useful without having to take your hands off of the movement stick like in the BF games to reach the D-Pad. Characters, environment and weapons all looked very good and detailed, a huge improvement over the first title running on Unreal 3. A lot of stuff has been reused from BF3 asset wise, like animations and such but this isn't really a bad thing as Warfighter builds upon them using their own touches. The game also ran very well, infrequently ever dropping below its target 30 except in rare instances of huge fights or explosions and I experienced no bugs that I can recall during the entire game.

More to the annoying stuff or just badly done, was the Breaching mechanic that has a bunch of stuff to unlock for it, that absolutely never once come into play outside of what animation plays first before opening a door. There are about 10 and every single one of them have the same outcome. I would be okay with this if it was listed off as a cosmetic like feature, but it's a main part of the game and you spend a lot of times doing it. Tying into this, the mechanic is just overall done badly. Enemies behind the doors seem to have exaggerated amounts of health compared to the standard and the game will automatically force you the enter the room while they are firing at you, without allowing you to retreat back into the previous room most of the time. I did not enjoy this and feel it could have been done much better. Another issue I had was more than a fifth of the game is spent either in a driving sequence (which is done very well actually) or chasing sequence and these drag on and on, for what seems upwards of 10-15 minutes or more at a single time. There was a lack of weapon variety and shotguns were made to be extremely inaccurate, even at close ranges which was something I loved from the first Reboot, and it felt like a shame. At the same time, they removed the ability to shoot through cover, another praise I had from the Reboot. The crouch and prone button timings are really bonkers, needing a full second depressed to go prone. That is why a lot of the times, I am just standing up in the middle of fire as I've already released my finger from it thinking I was going to lay down. Lastly, your teammates are complete and totally useless, morons beyond the Oblivion NPC levels of dumb, again another thing that the first Reboot did very well.

This is my full playthrough of Warfighter on the Hard difficulty, including all of my deaths and mistakes. Overall, I had an enjoyable time throughout my short campaign run on the Hard difficulty, finding it very fair. The game has some issues but holds up well on its own outside of them. I would give Warfighter a 7/10, not including the multiplayer. This was my first time ever playing this game.
