A very generic Call of Duty clone with very few unique mechanics, or features. A point A to B shooter, very short and easy. This is based on real life events (though heavily exaggerated), but with Danger Close's own retelling involving fictional characters and drama added in.

Performance wise, this game runs horribly with FPS jumping between the low teens and 20s, rarely locking to a steady 30 with screen tearing all over the place. There are major points where the game will freeze or jump down to around 5 FPS when huge set pieces are being shown on screen, though these are tiny in comparison to say what the Call of Duty engine at the time could show. I experienced one bug where the game said I failed the mission, then continued as if I hadn't even though I never did anything wrong. Other than that, and the low performance, it was perfectly stable.

Graphically this game is nothing really fancy, running on the Unreal 3 engine and on consoles anyways, having very low resolutions textures placed everywhere and an overuse of bloom effects though it does have some amazing lighting and animations. There are a few scenes that are pretty stunning however, such as the night events or the helicopter barrages and due to the short campaign, areas aren't really revisited or reused.

One of my major issues I had with this game was the lack of circular input on the analog sticks when barely pressing on them, making you only able to aim in a square unless they are pressed fully in. This makes fine aiming very hard and with DICE's involvement and previous work on consoles with Bad Company, this shouldn't have been an issue.

I will note that the most fun I had in this game, was the knife and melee attack where you are able to stab like 5 times a second, reminding me of the Return to Castle Wolfenstein knife. You look like a maniac when using it and it always makes me feel warm inside when I got too.

This is my uncut, raw playthrough from beginning to end, recorded at 4K60 on real hardware. I would give this game a 6/10, including the multiplayer which I have played before and remember being alright, running on Battlefield 3's engine, but that's a different story.
