Mega Man: Day in the Limelight 2 [Part 2] - Back on Track
Update/Note: The first video now has annotations. Feel free to go watch that if you haven't already.
Original Description:
For now, anyways. As it turns out, the recent technical issue with my other computer wasn't actually the graphics card. Instead, it was the motherboard. Although I can still transfer a good portion of my data over to a new one, this still means my old comp is basically dead for good now.
Although I will be getting a new PC at some point, I'll let you all in on something that may or may not be surprising to you: Almost all of the playthrough series (and for the most part, almost every other video) I've uploaded was made on a comp operating with Windows XP. Despite how many issues I had with it at times, it still managed to last quite a while longer than most of my other stuff. It was 15+ years old before the motherboard kicked the bucket, and it was still the most reliable comp I had. To be honest, it's sad to see it finally go, but it had a good run none-the-less.
At this point, I'm currently operating on another, somewhat old comp until I can get my true replacement PC. I'll still be able to make videos for now, but it'll take some time to adjust. This is mostly because I have to use Camtasia 7 from now on (I'm generally used to Version 6. The only other time I used 7 was for my Shovel Knight playthrough, which had to be done on my laptop - considering it was the only thing that could run it properly). I honestly wasn't sure if this would work out at first, but despite the issues with this other comp and Camtasia 7's weird quirks, the footage actually turned out pretty good. Aside from a general quality increase, there's no more hang ups or clip-show-esque slowdown, and even the transition effects are much smoother. All in all, I'd call this a good improvement for now - which means I should be able to complete this and the next few games as scheduled.
