Mega Man (NES): Part 10: Robot Master Rematch + Wily Machine Final Boss & Ending
This is the final level of the game. Mega Man first starts out through another course containing enemies and spikes, ending near one of those platforms from Guts Man's stage and a teleporter.
There's a very special item before the teleporter called a Yashichi. It appears throughout several Capcom games and serves different purposes in them. In this game, it is a pure, one-of-a-kind item that completely refills Mega Man's health and all of his weapons.
The teleporter leads to fighting the remaining four Robot Masters of this game, one after another with each transport. Here are their weakness:
1st: Bomb Man; weak to Fire Storm
2nd: Fire Man; weak to Ice Slasher
3rd: Ice Man; weak to Thunder Beam
4th: Guts Man; weak to Hyper Bomb.
Know that there's no healing between each of these battles. You must try your hardest to survive through all four battles before you can get to the next invisible checkpoint.
Said checkpoint is right before the final boss of the game: Dr. Albert W. Wily himself in his very first Wily Machine.
First, use the Fire Storm to destroy the capsule's exterior, revealing Wily, then use the Thunder Beam to destroy the capsule for sure. This is all assuming that you don't use the game's Pause Glitch, which can make those weapons eat through the machine faster.
Once the machine is destroyed, Wily is left defenseless, gives up, and begs Mega Man to forgive him. Since he just leaves him behind, I guess he does.
So, to summarize the ending dialogue, Mega Man has returned the world to piece, but to make it last, he must continue fighting on...
Mega Man then makes his long trip back home, having changed back into his regular ego, Rock. The final scene has him meet up with his sister Roll and his "father" Dr. Light, jumping into the air as if he's saying "I'M HOOOOOOOOME! *echo*"
The game is over at this point, but pressing Start takes you back to Stage Select screen up to the point of challenging the Wily stages again.
I guess I'll move on to Mega Man 2 now. You know, the Final Fantasy VII/Ocarina of Time/Symphony of the Night of the classic Mega Man series and possibly of the whole franchise? That one?
