Initial Playtesting Description (originally uploaded on 11/21/19): Case study
Post-Release Public Description (edited on 3/8/20): This was the third and final playtesting video regarding the Yoku Devil; uploaded a few days later after the first two recordings. The culmination of all that I tried to show on the on the boss. This was a painstaking thing to do as I was basically alone on this situation. Naturally, I would suggest that you see the first two Yoku Devil videos to have a bit of context of what I'll be explaining before reading on.
To keep track of the situation so far, my computer had major issues with the Yoku Devil througout the playtesting phase. The weakpoint kept giving me different incorrect results when I depending on if I wasn't recording (weakpoint forever closed) or not (weakpoint forever open). Also, keep track that no other playtester could replicate my result. However, since I still had this situation recurring, I had to keep giving the developer, Dennis, this report until the issue 100% resolved as if I had this problem, someone could have it as well if the game were to be released in this state.
So, in order to make sure that I had irrefutable proof of how off this fight was, once again, I put the iPhone to work since recording and not recording on my comupter had different results. (A quick reminder that I can't record the game on Aero mode and this was all on Window Classic mode.) However, I didn't stop with using OBS as my testing capture. I used two others, Fraps and Camtasia in this case, to use three recording systems to make my case. So this was the most extensive test that I did regarding how funky the Yoku Devil's coding was. Needless to say, this was rough. Especially considering that Dennis made multiple updates trying to fix the problem so the game can be released a little sooner.
Of course, if you're reading this by now, you can know that the issue was finally and permanently resolved, thankfully. So, at least I can say that my efforts to keep this boss in check was not put to waste. Not to mention, Dennis putting in the work to help with my case, especially when he and the other testers could not see what I did. Well, I hope you have seen and understood what I've been through for this boss if you saw all three videos. Also, see a little bit of why the Research Labs and I have been joined at the hip since before the release of Rock n' Roll. With all that said, if there are any other questions, feel free to ask, and I hope that you've been enlightened through these videos. Thus, until the next time, enjoy yourselves. Later.
