I made this as my test zoom on my new computer because I wanted to test how well this new laptop can handle a fractal render [pretty damn well--it didn't even heat up one bit], but also because there simply aren't really any Menger Sponge zooms on YouTube. I'm still getting a hang of using Mandelbulb 3D. Overall, this one minute render consists of 1500 frames at roughly 24fps, and it took me 5 hours and 15 minutes to render. I think MB3D didn't take advantage of all the cores it could have to render this. I'm not sure how to fix that.

By the way, the song playing in this is part of Redshift's Blueshift album. I always felt the "electronic pioneers" genre has the best music for slow 3D fractal zooms.Liquid DnB is the best for very fast 2D zooms, especially of the Mandelbrot Set. I'm surprised nobody else snagged that as their YouTube username handle before me, so I'm happy I can use it as my own, because most of the videos I will upload from now on will be fractal zooms. I record too many videos to really care about uploading them anymore... after I started having laptop issues, I started drifting away from the stuff.

BUT with my sexy new Lenovo Y50 59444168 (and it really is sexy), I'm able to render a full on fractal zoom without my computer slowing down at all or even heating it up more than a degree or two.
