So here's something substantially obscure as it hasn't really released in its fully finalized form yet- Metal Neko Games' Starfall line of miniatures!
Part of an upcoming kickstarter last I read, Starfall is a small scale skirmish game that leans a lot more into the science- fantasy style that I much prefer over a more "hard" sci fi futuristic game.
I'll let you rules lawyer types take a look at the rules with the link below- I'm not the best judge of how to play games as I so rarely do these days but I do know me my models!
I picked up the two starter sets available- The Argent Palisades and the Cinderfane Paths. I dig the swordsmen from each set the most but that probably isn't a shock to any of you. Luka from the Argent Palisades probably edges out space samurai Marcus from the rival group due to his overtly Kain- like Final Fantasy Dragoon armor.
It's always fun building multipart models with no real guidelines on how they're supposed to go together other than a few cg renders and sample artwork. It's doable though.
Parts are cast well but that isn't much of a surprise as these are produced by Metal Oak Studios who do a lot of casting for a variety of miniatures companies.
Do check out their website- the rules are free and available and there's some neat artwork to tide you over until the game gets a full and proper release- although these models are all currently available if you're curious as well!
