Metal Slug X 2 player multiplayer playthrough at ESA Summer 2024
WARNING FLASHING IMAGES
One of the many multiplayer playthroughs I've recorded in the latter half of July 2024.
I played as Tarma.
Panda played as Fio.
NEO GEO territory now. To those unfamilar, Metal Slug X is an enhanced version of Metal Slug 2 by using a modified engine of Metal Slug 3 with a fair amount of gameplay differences worthy for a comparison video. This is a super casual playthrough of the arcade version which has unlimited credits.
Yes, Neo Geo does have some beat em ups but none of them are Streets of Rage 2 quality.
"But what about "Sengoku 3?""
Well it's visually amazing but the pacing is a bit slow as enemies take forever to die and some characters' recovery frames on blade attacks take an eternity.
There's also Final Vendetta in development for Neo Geo as of the upload date to this video which, if it plays just as well as the HD platforms, I can consider that game to be a A+ tier beat em up for the Neo Geo.
Between July 19th to July 28th, I was at an event in Sweden known as European Speedrunner Assembly Summer 2024, raising money towards Alzheimerfonden (Swedish Alzhimer's Foundation). This was my first on-site event where I didn't participate in a full length run at all other than commentating an extra run and taking part in a Super Mario 64 Relay.
Fortunately, before the event, I purchased a second hand Avermedia Live Gamer Portable II Plus unit for like over 75% off the default price. This allowed me to record content WITHOUT a PC. There were a few caveats such as not truly supporting accurate hz output for arcade cores on the Mister (recorder will not record things below 59.8 FPS) and the recording quality isn't as good as my main capture card that is connected to the PC.
