The Persona series has been special to me for a long time. And I reference Persona in particular, despite Persona itself being a spin-off of Shin Megami Tensei, and Metaphor: ReFantazio not technically being a part of either series. Metaphor, at its heart, place a LOT like recent Persona games, from the way you nurture relationships to the daily life simulation calendar to building your kingly virtues.

That's not a bad thing, however, as Metaphor certainly holds a lot more activity in a condensed calendar, which I appreciate (no waiting 3 weeks for "things to happen") and it always keeps things moving fluidly. Plus, changing up Archetypes keeps everything loose and engaging, constantly learning something new and building a solid list of spells.

Atlus has quickly become one of my favorite RPG makers over the last few years, and Metaphor is an incredibly example of why they're so good; from storytelling, to interaction, to combat, there are very few things about Metaphor I would change, and I only wish there was more to play.
