Caldaer: Double non-depleted Elements send and immune to Drain debuffs, but chains break while falling.

My personal thoughts on Caldaer: Full of hot air, huh? This avatar might seem intimidating at first due to being unable to make combos, but it's a matter of knowing the right strategy to use this with. Caldaer is an avatar that focuses on the strategy known as Juggling, the tactic where you balance making matches between multiple stacks. This strategy is most effective on avatars with 9 columns, as that allows you to manage between 3 stacks of 3-wide columns. Because chains break while falling, meaning you can't combo, you're meant to try to juggle with 3 columns across the board, though accidental matches make that easier said than done to pull off and it doesn't score too well. But, because of this handicap, Caldaer does get the trade-off of doubling non-depleted elements sent and it's immune to the drain debuffs, which is nice. Now, how can you take advantage of this? Well, the trick is something I like to call "board control", which is a really powerful skill in the right hands. Caldaer has one key component to this: the speeder. It has a really small Fall Speed and Resistance stat, that makes it to where when the speeder is off, the stacks fall *really* slowly, but they plummet pretty fast when the speeder is turned on. This basically makes it feel like there are two sets of physics you can swap between at any time, hence the term "board control". The strategy I try to use with this avatar is to juggle until I get the level 1 power-ups. I highly recommend matching from the 5th row up from the bottom so it doesn't clear, but you still have plenty of elements underneath to play with. Then, make 3 stacks using the bottom row, each 3-wide. You need to do this quickly and make sure the speeder is OFF when you do this. Once the three stacks are in the air, use the Recharge powerup to pull off a screen clear and get the screen clear and column clear bonuses. The reason this works despite there being no chains is because the entire board is cleared in a really short time span, counting it as clearing the screen. It's a strategy that definitely needs practice to master, I've yet to fully master it, but I find it pretty effective personally. Hard to use, but pretty fun regardless. Just be careful staring at the tiles for too long, they can get pretty hypnotic...
