Grannest has an interesting mechanic; ignitions do not gain or lose power during combos. A few planets have this kind of playstyle, but Grannest is the first you'll encounter. There are two ways to take advantage of this; one is to infinitely combo using the stagnant launch power at the risk of running out of Meteos to match (especially when fighting opponents where you'll get burnt Meteos sent to you regularly), the other is to get a match set up near the bottom of a stack, then match close to the top to get the stack into the air then ignite the match you set up in order to screen clear (or get close to it). Just be wary when fighting enemy Grannest, they tend to survive longer than most others to my experience and they can unleash ruthless counterattacks if not dealt with quickly.
