Here's a walkthrough of me going through the original Metroid for the Nintendo Entertainment System. I am going for 100% pickups. Even though I have the sequential Main Item list, I will be doing some sequence breaking.

In Brinstar, I obtain the Ice Beam again, because that's the only way to freeze the Metroids. After getting it, I finally am able to go to Tourian and finally encounter the Metroids. The only way to kill them is to freeze them with the Ice Beam, and then use five Missiles. Luckily they drop refills with either 30 Energy or 30 Missiles. After going through the corridors, I finally end up in the main room and destory a Zebetite.
