Here's a walkthrough of me going through the original Metroid for the Nintendo Entertainment System. I am going for 100% pickups. Even though I have the sequential Main Item list, I will be doing some sequence breaking.

I have to go back to the elevator, but I die along the way, which ends up putting me back at the elevator. I head back up to Brinstar, and go all the way to the elevator leading to Norfair. There, I die on purpose to save.
