Metroid Fusion ALL BOSSES DEFEATED!
The most linear out of them all
I've been looking forward to replaying this one since I played this game when I was younger on my old iPhone 5s on a GBA Emulator.
After all those years, what do I tihnk about it? Well, its a pretty good game, but after playing more games like these, it hit me on how linear this game is. More linear than Blasphemous 2.
The game still has the things that make Metroid great, those being great ambiance, atmosphere, soundtrack, level design and bosses, there are a few new things the game introduces like climbing, mantling and a new missile type. Sure these arent groundbreaking, but they make the game not be just Super Metroid under a different skin.
One big thing this game introduces is that its story focused and the story is pretty good, simple but good with a some twists and a message that feels very relevant today more than ever.
However the best part is that recharge stations arent spaced and theyre right next to the save rooms when you enter an area, and they recharge both HP and Missiles. Its great.
If there was an issue i had with the game is that is the linear nature of it. While you can possibly branch out to collect other stuff, the game wants to stick to it's main path. While not a deal breaker, its something that's a little jarring after the previous games were non-linear.
Last thing to talk about are the bosses and honestly, theyre the best out of all of the 2D Metroids (in my opinoin). The roster is varied and the fights are really good and memorable. I really enjoyed fighting almost all of them.
As for my favorites: Zazabi, Serris, BOX, Yakuza, Nightmare, Neo-Ridley and SA-X.
Overall, a really good game thats another worthy addition to the franchise. While linear, its still a blast to play through.
