MGRR - Excelsus (Rev / S-rank / No Damage)
3I got a new laptop yesterday and my god was it a major level up from just about every perspective. Finally I can get back to video editing antics for real! No more waiting for ten hours for a five-minute clip to render!
That aside, I'm glad I could get around showing my Excelsus no damage run from the New Year's Eve as well.
So what's hard about the boss?
Scoring a single zandatsu from a Gekko.

Excelsus' movement is slow and easily telegraphable, but the zandatsu makes this fight a tad harder than it really is. Luring the Gekkos to the heat beam is a bit of work and getting the zandatsu afterwards is a moment of room for no errors. As I scored the zandatsu from a Gekko (I aligned the slice with left analog stick in control type C), I was left with pretty much no vision on what beam alignment Excelsus was going to fire next and at times it left me completely blinded which ended in me taking damage from the beam. That said, I trusted in my single zandatsu and even that is a bit risky even if you know how the beam pattern goes.
The 80-hit combo strategy is straight ouf the strategy guide, just Ripper mode and blade mode mashing until 80 hits. All in all a simple boss fight, which is a shame because the setting was pretty good in my opinion and could've used for a bit of improvisation.
