I've seen clips of people using FFXIV Jump gesture to survive Behemoth's Ecliptic Meteor, but I've also seen many more get carted trying, as have I. So I ran some tests on it to better understand the mechanics.

The gesture will just be referred to as "jump", and Ecliptic Meteor as just "meteor", for convenience's sake.

It's all about the timing, but not sure whether distance plays a role, as in whether it still works at the edge of meteor's AOE. A successful jump always transports the jumper to Behemoth's head, doing way more damage than a regular jump.

Surviving the meteor part is a sort of scripted event, as jump by default has no invincibility, no tracking, and barely does chip damage. Evasion Mantle does not boost the non-existent invincibility window, and Temporal Mantle does not cancel the gesture. Great Jagras's hurtbox is a bit wonky, so I tested against Diablos for good measure.

Weirdly enough, the player's hitbox seems to remain grounded, but the slinger ammo's graphics is placed at the top of the jump.

To put the difficulty of this trick into perspective, I dumped in some of my failed attempts in the outtakes. So jump responsibly :)
