[MHW] Vaal Hazak backhop exploit patched
I was looking at the patch notes for ver. 5.00 and found this hidden somewhere in the "others" category:
"The height on Vaal Hazak and Arch-tempered Vaal Hazak's field of view settings have been tweaked."
Apparently that is enough to fix the exploit it seems. The backhop is still a thing, but it doesn't seem to be as exploitable as before, in the sense that Vaal has a significantly better chance at spotting the player.
This also means that my goal for Kinsect only Vaal Hazak non-aggro run pretty much impossible at this point. Oh well.
Glad to know the devs are actively patching out stuff.
Meanwhile I noticed Vaal doesn't like to linger near the entrance to its lair. Just an observation to its behaviour, nothing important here.
