According to a rumor, Microsoft is reportedly in talks with game creator Tomonobu Itagaki to merge his new studio, Apex Games Studio, with Xbox Game Studios or Zenimax. Itagaki is well-known for creating popular titles like Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden, and a partnership with his studio could benefit Xbox's popularity in the Japan region. An alleged conversation between a Microsoft representative and Itagaki was posted on Twitter, revealing that Xbox is seeking more Japan-exclusive games. While Itagaki previously had a fallout with Xbox, he has expressed interest in working with them again. However, until official confirmation is made, it is recommended to take the rumor with a grain of salt. If Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard falls through, they may seek to acquire more gaming studios, and Apex Games Studio may be just the beginning.
