Welcome to my playthrough of _Millipede (ミリピード)_ (game region: Japan) – also called _Milli-Pede: Kyodai Konchuu no Gyakushuu (ミリピード 巨大昆虫の逆襲,_ lit. _Milli-Pede: Counterattack of the Gigantic Insects)_ on the game box – for the Nintendo Family Computer (FC for short), commonly known as the Famicom, the Japanese equivalent of the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).

This playthrough shows:

• a no-death run of thirty rounds on the beginner difficulty level ("1 Player Game A" mode).

There is no formal ending to the game.

*– OVERVIEW –*

_Millipede_ for the Famicom is a fixed-screen shoot 'em up (shmup). The game was ported and published by HAL Laboratory. It was released in Japan on October 1, 1987.

• _Millipede_ began as a coin-operated video game for the North American arcade (AC) market, stylized as _millipede_ in the West and _Milli-Pede_ in Japan. Developed and published by Atari, Inc. (now Warner Bros. Games), it was released on November 12, 1982.
◦ The game is a sequel to 1981's highly successful _Centipede,_ and features more gameplay variety and a wider range of insects than the original.
◦ This version is played with a trackball and a single fire button that can be held down for rapid fire.

• Originally, _Millipede_ was part of a deal for Atari, Inc. to distribute the Famicom in the western regions, along with a set of three other games.
◦ Those games were: _Star Gate (スター・ゲイト)_ – [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDJY4kvL9h4] – _Joust (ジャウスト)_ (both 1987) and a never-released unknown title.
◦ The development of these titles was outsourced to HAL Laboratory, who ended up self-publishing them years after the deal fell through.

• _Millipede_ puts you in control of an elf called "The Archer".
◦ The goal of the game is to destroy millipedes as they move from the top of the screen to the bottom.
◦ In the Famicom and NES versions, earwigs do not poison mushrooms (which, when touched, cause a millipede to charge straight to the bottom of the screen).
