(Limited Edition))_ (game region: Japan) for the Nintendo Family Computer (FC for short), commonly known as the Famicom, the Japanese equivalent of the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).

This playthrough shows:
• a no-lose run.
To heal an injured Little Mac, keep pressing SELECT during Doc Louis' pep talk between rounds. If done correctly, Doc will tap Mac on the shoulder more quickly. However, his health will actually decrease when the health bar is (almost) full. This can only be done once per match.

*– GAME OVERVIEW –*
_Punch-Out!!: Gold Edition_ for the Famicom is a puzzle boxing sports video game. The game was developed by Nintendo Research & Development No. 3 (Nintendo R&D3). Nintendo released it in a gold-colored ROM cartridge as a prize for participating in a _Golf: U.S. Course (ゴルフUSコース)_ tournament on September 18, 1987.
This version was also part of the Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) service for Famicom titles on April 10, 2019.
_Punch-Out!!: Gold Edition_ is basically a modified prototype of _Punch-Out!! (パンチアウト!!)_ with color differences, broken English and no showdown against Mike Tyson or Mr. Dream. Only 10,000 copies were made.
• _Punch-Out!!_ is an adaptation of Nintendo's arcade (AC) game of the same name and its direct sequel, _Super Punch-Out!!_ (both 1984).
◦ Genyo Takeda – former General Manager of Nintendo Research & Development No. 3 – and his partner Makoto Wada created the _Punch-Out!!_ series.
• In _Punch-Out!!,_ the player controls a boxer named Little Mac who must work his way up through the ranks of the World Video Boxing Association (W.V.B.A.) by facing a series of colorful fictional opponents.
◦ The final boss is Mike Tyson, then the heavyweight boxing champion of the world. After Tyson's license expired, he was replaced by the fictional Mr. Dream.
◦ Mario makes a cameo appearance as a referee.
• The key to defeating opponents in _Punch-Out!!_ is to learn their fighting patterns (often an audio or visual cue is given before they strike), avoid the attack and respond with a proper counter.
