Hello all and welcome to my let’s play of Phoenix Point! The Steam year 1 edition of the game came out and im playing through the game again. Hopefully we can complete the game this time over!
Before I dive into the action today I go over some things that I have done, I made some changes to a squad’s gear and equipped our Technician with his new shiney laser toys. I also qued up some armor pieces to protect against psychic damage because last episode showed nicely why we need it.
Aside from that, I want to expand to a new base but I would like some input about that. I have 3 bases to choice from and would love it if people can post a reply about which one they think would be best. Im very conflicted and the input can really help!
Leaving the geoscape behind for now we have plenty of action in the field. We start by destroying the nest that we revealed at the end of last episode. I intended to send the team that discovered the nest last episode rest before destroying it. But theyre mostly alright aside from 1 soldier who is injured. I give them another medkit to heal up and send them to destroy it.
We send the Red team to do a story mission, save Helena. Im not sure what it is but we are attacking a New Jericho haven to bust out a captured scientist so it will be interesting what she can reveal to us. After the mission she gave us 900 research and this basicly completed just about all the projects that we had so it was defenitly profitable to us!
Lastly, we do another story mission and this reveals more research into the Pandoran virus. I thought we actually had this mission done already but turns out I dident do it yet. The site is swarmed with neutral bandits though and we need to clear those out first before we can acces the research.
It gives us a nice chance to test our new shiney tech though so I really dont mind! :D

Phoenix Point is set in 2047 on an Earth in the midst of an alien invasion, with Lovecraftian horrors on the verge of wiping out humanity. Players start the game in command of a lone base, Phoenix Point, and face a mix of strategic and tactical challenges as they try to save themselves and the rest of humankind from annihilation by the alien threat.
Between battles, the aliens adapt through accelerated, evolutionary mutations to the tactics and technology which players use against them. Meanwhile, multiple factions of humans will pursue their own objectives as they compete with players for limited resources in the apocalyptic world. How players resolve these challenges can result in different endings to the game.
