MineFactory Reloaded (MFR) Tutorial: Farms (FTB 1.6.4)
One of the easiest farming method is using the MFR farming machines. They require very small amount of maintenance and is very cheap to set up. They are very configurable in terms of size and what to plant.
If you are looking for the MFR animal and mob farm machines, I have another video for that:

Basically, there are two items required for every farm spot:
Planter & Harvester.
An optional addon is the Fertilizer, a tip is to try your farm in creative mode to see if it is needed. My feeling is that it works best for a small tree farm, or else it will be hard for the other machines to keep up.
You can have the Sludge Boiler next to the Harvester, or have all your farms connected to a central spot to burn through this poisonous liquid. This is not required though! In the video I say that you have to, but at least in the current version it is not needed. I remembered incorrectly when saying so.
Don't forget the upgrades, some farms work fine without one (like a 3x3 fully fertilized treefarm), but a massive 25x25 Emerald upgraded farm should be the aim for every serious MFR-farmer :)
