Mingle Magnet [ミングルマグネット] Game Sample - WonderSwan
Developed and published by HAL Laboratory Inc. towards the end of 1999, Mingle Magnet is one of the most primitive puzzlers on the WonderSwan handheld, but it is also fairly addictive and challenging, and makes for a great quick game to play on the go. The game is played vertically.
In the game, you use a hand pointer to remove like-magnets from play, but three or more need to be connected. The more like-magnets that are connected together when you eliminate them, the more points you recieve. As time goes by, more magnets fall from one of the four sides of the play area, and they fall down in two sequences repeteadly, progressively getting faster and faster. You don't have direct control where the magnets fall, but once they are down, you can shift your stack in any of the four directions, which will shift the tiles around as well. This is perhaps part of where the doujin game, "Ro!!", drew its inspiration, but if it didn't, it should have; they're quite similar.
The limited amount of music and sounds are nice, though you shouldn't really expect anything in the audio/visual department from this game. This is a video of roughly the first five minutes. Enjoy.
