"Mira/ge" - Xenoblade X album announcement + PREVIEW!
Hey there! First things first, here's the fanlink to the EP:

Huge shoutout to @MarkAutumn for playing acoustic guitar on Oblivia and to @Psamathes for singing on Field Kaijou (for those wondering: yes, it's the same arrangement from "Landscapes of the Zohar", my previous Xenoblade EP, but I've remixed and remastered it from scratch, since I thought psam's excellent vocal work deserved a second chance to shine).
Now, some useless additional info.
This EP kinda came out of nowhere. After finishing my Sylvalum and Cauldros arrangement last summer, I realised I basically had 4 out of 6 main area (the 5 continents + the ocean) themes from X done, so I figured it'd be nice to go the extra mile and cover them all for a thematic EP. Back then I was also pretty discouraged due to another project of mine dragging on wayyy longer than I had anticipated, so the idea of being able to arrange and release something quickly was really appealing.
Clearly, as usual, my predictions were wrong lmfao. Arranging the last two tracks, Primordia and Noctilum, was HELL: the latter in particular felt like it'd never sound good, no matter how much time and effort I put into it. In the end, I still don't know if I like how it turned out. Besides, my Oblivia cover from 2018, which I thought would only need a few minor adjustments, ended up taking an entirely new direction...
Long story short, making the EP took a few months and many stressful mixing sessions. Then it got stuck in licensing hell for a couple months... until now! I'm glad to have it out and hope people will enjoy it*, but most of all I'm happy I can now move on to work on something else**, whether it's one-shot covers or a deadass collab album that's been devouring my sanity for almost two years now.
* until Xenoblade X - X anniversary edition drops on Nintendo Super Switch in 2025.
** although first I have to relearn the parts for the tracks which don't a performance video yet. Pain.
