Piracy is a complicated and multilayered issue which is agreed upon as mostly leaving behind a negative impact in media. I am not here to defend piracy, nor to make it look bad, but rather to shine a light on aspects of piracy, which are not really discussed at all.

Game preservation is very important to me, and undoubtably, piracy plays a big part in preserving games. With the new business practices of many companies, many games run the risk of vanishing forever if appropriate action is not taken by the developers or the fans.
