I played the first Momodora about 2 years ago and recall it being more level driven, this one is definitely more metroidvania like. And that is a great thing. This game is a freaking gen. From the jump the music is popping, a free indie has no right being this great, The level design is fine, there's some exploration, but it's not too intense and since the game is so short you are constantly rewarded with power-ups. Whether they be health increases, damage increases or increased movement abilities. There's only a handful of bosses but they are fun and not all that hard. The final boss at first made me think it was going to be a slog and lo-and-behold with a little patience it was well thought out and actually pretty easy. I wanted that 100% and I'm pretty sure to do that you need to start a New Game + but since I missed some collectibles I was happy to go back through it and you get to keep all of your health. You do need to recollect the abilities and damage upgrades which is fine. There were a couple of hard to find spots for 100% and I certainly overlooked something. I loved this game. What an amazing little gem. Enjoy my blind playthrough.
