General information and discussion:
Oh my God Kazaki is just way too precious holy shit. The way she gets so seriously flustered over such a small thing (several times!), her snorty, unrestrained laugh, the way she immediately launches into a self-parodic rant because she knows exactly how ridiculous it sounds the second it comes out of her mouth, she’s so adorable, I love her. One of my favorite things about her is how sincerely touched she gets by even the smallest and simplest compliments. She’s such an intensely earnest person.
This clip is short, but it was pretty difficult, since she talks at about triple the speed of light in a very rough and extemporaneous fashion, and I’m not very familiar with the intricacies of galgame character archetypes. She also swears, which of course I want to translate accurately, doubly so since her rough way of speaking and the way it contrasts with her adorable appearance and innocent heart is part of her charm, but I want to make sure I don’t make it sound like she said something “worse” than she really did and give people an inaccurate image of her or otherwise cause problems for her. All the usual disclaimers apply: I make these translations in large part to practice my Japanese, which is not very good. I have my work proofread by my friend Cherem, whose Japanese is much better than mine. Big thanks to him for doing so. I like to leave detailed translator’s notes to help people understand why I chose to translate certain things in certain ways.

Translator’s notes:
0:01 It’s important to note that, as far as confessions in Japanese go, “suki desu” is very light and polite compared to other possible phrasings the viewer could have chosen. I also want to point out that the Japanese phrasing of this line is more like “I came to your stream for the first time,” but I didn’t want to go with that more literal version because in English, especially in this context, that sounds a little, uh, bad.
0:38 *CORRECTION*: Rather than referring to the situation as "simple," this comment is really referring to her as "easy" in the sense of like "easy to please," because of how flustered she got over something so small.
0:50 Kazaki cuts herself off and restarts this sentence, and as a result I don’t know what she’s trying to say in the first part that she cuts off partway through, so that little sentence fragment at the beginning and the restart aren’t reflected in the translation.
