ANOTHER reboot? Apparently. According to THR, Platinum Dunes’ Andrew Form and Brad Fuller (who produced the previous two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live-action films) said that a new reboot is not only in the works but apparently will begin production later this year. They have even brought in a new writer for the task in the form of Andrew Dodge, who previously wrote the Jason Bateman fronted movie “Bad Words.” https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/new-ninja-turtles-movie-works-1121467
Blue Beetle
The Wrap is reporting that the next DC live-action movie is going to be the Blue Beetle! To be penned by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, who also wrote Universal’s “Scarface.” AND there is rumor elsewhere in the internets (geeks world wide: https://thegww.com/rumor-booster-gold-to-appear-in-dcs-blue-beetle-movie/) that Booster Gold is going to play at least a small part in the movie as well. Perhaps laying the groundwork for a future movie?

Ghostbusters
Looks like Dan Akroyd wasn’t bluffing when he told us a few weeks ago that there was a third installment of the original series in the works. We were graced with a trailer for the no-longer-super-secret project this passed Tuesday. The movie is set to be directed by Jason Reitman.
~ALSO, according to Borys Kit via Twitter, the movie is going to introduce a DIFFERENT new generation of paranormal investigators. This time with a little balance in that the new characters will be 2 male and 2 female.
New Gods
Ava DuVernay’s super secret superhero movie project just got something of an update. We Got This Covered is reporting that their sources are saying the movie will focus mainly on Mister Miracle and Big Barda trying to escape from Apokolips. Again… are they laying the ground work for more future movie crossovers? Darkseid anyone?

The Little Stranger
Domhnall Gleeson and Will Poulter want this movie to be elevated horror. But the horror elements in this movie barely even register. The first 2/3rds of this movie play out like a pretty good British psychological drama. Not exactly my cup of tea (cue rimshot), but not bad per se. The last 30 minutes of this movie are almost a completely different movie with the same actors and setting. The introduction of the supernatural elements feels shoe horned in and not well planned out. I realize this is based on a book, which I have not read, but this is a prime example of text not translating well in the hands of this production team.

Again, that Netflix suggested gets me almost every time. I watched the trailer for this movie when I saw Netflix was trying to get me to watch it, and it seemed to be something worth a look. About 20 minutes in, I realized I had been duped again. The best actor in this movie is Danny Huston, and he is on screen for less than 5 minutes. Our lead is Sam Walley, played by Margaret Qualley (who this seems to be her first big role in a movie, though she is in an HBO series I am unfamiliar with), who is doing experiments by herself trying to either adapt to the new harsher environment of Earth, or prove that the Earth environment is healing itself. All this due to some big event that we never get any explanation about, that has driven the remaining Earthlings to IO, one of Jupiter’s moons. The premise sounds interesting. Then Anthony Mackie comes in and things get weird, and somehow more boring all at once. Margaret is unmotivating when she has to share the screen with anyone else, and Anthony Mackie forgot how to emote. He goes from subdued to raging to caring entirely too much all in the blink of an eye.
