QUIC (RFC 9000) is a general-purpose transport layer protocol. It is selected as the transport layer for next-generation internet protocol HTTP/3. QUIC runs over UDP, but it goes beyond TCP, and it brings in new features. In this session we will - Quickly go through QUIC protocol and compare it with TCP/SSL - Discuss how IoT benefits from QUIC protocol - Talk about opportunities of running MQTT protocol over QUIC - Share our experiments of running MQTT over QUIC - Reveal the challenges we found and our future work
