After getting more acquainted with the other locals of the area, we manage to--rather quickly--earn their trust enough to acquire their aid in the manner of providing tools for our cause. However, for them to make said tools, they require a valuable material that is only available in their rival clan. Before we make our way to acquire this material, however, the chieftain of the peoples, "Xamott", offers one of his own to go with us to help procure the ore we need. A young lad by the name of "Korutt" steps up to the plate, and offers any bit of help he can. Though, he and his chieftain are rather quick to state that he is quite useless in a fight. We and the Crystal Exarch reassure both of them that we will protect him should any fights break out along the way.

Many fights were had along the road, as waves upon waves of sin eaters constantly bombarded us as we trekked along the path. Almost as frequently as the sin eaters came, Korutt ushers praise upon us for being a great team, and inquires how long we've known each other. The Crystal Exarch responds with warm acceptance, but there also seems to be an air of... melancholy... to his responses.

We finally reach the entrance to our destination, but not before one final wave of sin eaters appears to impede our progress. Resolved to end this short adventure with grace, the Crystal Exarch resolves himself with a smirk, and prepares to battle once more with us side-by-side. Though we dispatch the initial waves with relative ease, a fierce brute of a sin eater appears from seemingly nowhere and catches us unawares with a lethally brutal attack that brings us to the edge of death. Before it could deliver one more lethal blow, however, the Exarch pushes himself even further to usher a protective spell around us in a desperate attempt to save our life. After recovering from the attack, we regain our footing and dispatch the brute like all the rest.

We make our way towards our destination: "Duergar's Tewel". Here, we find the Goggs inhabiting the area. Assuming we would be branded as hostiles due to a member of the Tholls--the clan in which we acquainted ourselves with earlier--being in our company, we devise a plan of subtlety to acquire what we need. The Crystal Exarch would cast an invisibility spell on Korutt in which he would be able to mine the necessary ore whilst avoiding detection. Likewise, he would also cast an invisibility spell on us so that we may use dream powder on any of the more active Goggs roaming about as a means to give Korutt some breathing room. We both complete our tasks successfully, but just before we make our way back, the chieftain of the Goggs, "Glagg", approaches from behind us and catches us in the act red-handed. Korutt and Glagg quickly get in a confrontation whilst hurling insults at one another. As with the other Goggs, we use dream powder on Glagg as well before quickly making off with our quarry.

Upon arriving at Tomra, it would seem that the Tholls are extremely adept with the art of toolscrafting, as they had immediately accrued a suitable supply of pickaxes for us upon our return. Without delay, we acquire their handiwork to deliver them to the people of Norvrandt so that they may participate in expediting the process of constructing the gargantuan talos. We find many familiar faces as we deliver the tools: Kai-Shirr and the natives of Kholusia, Magnus and the miners of Amh Araeng, Rhon Rhon and the city of the Mord, and a caretaker from the Inn at Journey's Head. The peoples from all over the world have come for this moment, and we were not about to deny them their moment in participating in history.

After this, we proceed to meet Chai-Nuzz in any other task he may require of us. He mentions the need for a Talos heart, which initially seems to sound like quite an arduous task to create, but Y'shtola and the Night's Blessed deign to offer something most sacred for the project: the Heartstones. These stones were symbolic representations of their peoples' souls, and each one of them once belonged to a beloved member of their society before their passing. Before installing them into the Talos, however, Y'shtola requests that we imbue one particular heartstone for good luck. The stone she has us imbue a portion of our power into was a familiar one. It had belonged to Toddia, and was the very same heartstone we set out to acquire after it was lost during a Sin Eater attack. Though she may have lived a humble life, Toddia's spirit will live on as a catalyst to usher the saving of the world.
