Though seemingly to be an arduous task, the "Ladder" was quickly and efficiently repaired back to its full capacity and efficiency!

With the guidance of Chai-Nuzz, head of the Daedalus Stoneworks, the long-abandoned Talos of the region was restored back to their former functioning selves, which was the key component to reactivating the Ladder. Nearing the conclusion of this maintenance work, Emet-Selch stops by to marvel at the sight of like-minded souls coming together for a single purpose. Impressed by seeing a conquered people quickly swayed to join their conquerors, he offers a form of compliment to us for achieving such a historically-gargantuan task in such a short manner of time. Shortly afterwards, he reminisces upon the glory days of his own people, before the shattering. He names in particular a grand city named "Amaurot", in which he articulates a few details of its majesty. He stops himself short during this and states "Not that you would remember any of this".

This statement seems to hold much more to it, but Emet brushes off the remark and our response and summarizes his point that that life would be far better than what we have now, given all the things we have witnessed thus far. Given what we've heard, he may very well be right. However, the sacrifices to achieve that lifestyle are too impossibly high to even consider that option, and the process of achieving that life would cripple us of all the connections we've made. Case in point: as grand as it may sound, it simply *can not* be.

After ascending the Ladder, we quickly find a small village at the top of the cliff comprised of Eulmoran refugees and cast-outs. We also re-encounter an old acquaintance: Tristol, the artist who gave us our means of passage during our first visit to Eulmore. He seems to be quite glad to see us! We regale our tale to him. Though perplexed by the turn of events about Eulmore, he nevertheless offers his and the town's aid for the purpose of furthering our mission to end Vauthry and the Lightwarden menace.

Afterwards, Alisaie and us scout further towards the base of the mountains in which Mt. Gulg floats above. Though we face continuously fiercer Sin Eater resistance, we both manage to rendezvous at our designated point. As we gaze upon the floating mountain and the increasing airborne Sin Eater presence next to it, a small squadron of flying machina appear from a distance and fly directly towards Mt. Gulg. As soon as they arrived, so too did Urianger and the Crystal Exarch, whom has come to witness the final struggle with his own eyes. The machina are very quickly destroyed by the Sin Eaters, in which Alisaie concludes that flying is not an option. To this, the Crystal Exarch has deemed the machina to have served their purpose.

We return to Top Rung, being the station at the top of the Ladder, to reconvene with our allies and discuss a plan of attack. The Chais listen on from a short distance, and upon hearing the many setbacks we are encountering, Dulia-Chai becomes frustrated and blurts out "That wretched mountain should jolly well come back down to earth!" As silly and innocent-minded as it sounded, it sparks a rather ridiculous idea within Y'shtola's mind. She proposes the construction of a gargantuan Talos to grab onto the mountain to both bring it down and act as a bridge. Chai-Nuzz, being the head architect of the more modern-day Talos, finds the idea absolutely preposterous, and makes it clear to all how he feels towards the idea. But, being the innovator that he is, his mind does seem to catch onto a possibility of making it happen by means of sacrificing mobility and simplifying the overall construction by reducing its capabilities to serve only a single purpose. But despite the idea sounding plausible initially, he catches himself before he gets too carried away and realizes the absolutely ridiculous amount of time it would take for their crew to assemble such a beast to begin with.

But we've made friends.

Each of the Scions announce their connections and how they'd be able to assemble enough people to hyper-accelerate the process. Thancred the miners of Amh Araeng, Alisaie the people of Mord Souq, Alphinaud the people of Kholusia, Y'shtola the people of the Night's Blessed, and the Crystal Exarch the entire people of the Crystarium. Taken strongly aback by this, Chai-Nuzz proclaims in shock "But that's just about everyone in bally Norvrandt!"

He would be correct! We've gone throughout all the unblighted lands to assist them in any way we could, whilst clearing up their skies of that gods-forsaken light! Kholusia will be the final step to end this century of blinded agony, and this Talos project will be a symbol of the will of the planet taking its freedom, family, home, friends... everything back from the gods!

...But while our friends get the people, we must get the tools.
