Sacrifice | FFXIV: Shadowbringers MSQ [17]
After traversing to the Hills of Amber in the country of Amh Araeng, we immediately set out to gathering as much information as we can in search for a lead to find the location of the Lightwarden of the area. We eventually come across a pair of trolley-obsessed locals who are all-too-eager to share any information they can relating to "the trolley". We've deduced that this trolley may be our best bet in delving into possible Lightwarden territory, but we also piece together that it would directly lead us to the place in which Minfilia could commune with the true Minfilia, the Oracle of Light. Following the same philosophy of "killing two birds with one stone", the group comes to accept that bringing the fusing of the two Minfilias would most likely come before finding the Lightwarden of the land, which brings about a rather foreboding atmosphere, especially for Minfilia and Thancred.
Minfilia struggles with her feelings of inadequacy, and desperately seeks some form of closure relating to that. Thancred struggles with accepting the loss of either one of the Minfilias, though he has much stronger history with the original version.
Amidst all of this, we come across a man named "Magnus" in the city of "Twine", and we hear of his tale of loss and his losing battle with grief. This same man also holds the knowledge needed to manage and work the famed "Trolley", though he is quite adamantly stubborn with refusing to cooperate amidst his drunken depression. However, knowledge of such things would still prove useless to us without a working "Talos", which is a large stone golem that is used to power the machinery. There so happens to be a lifeless one located in the middle of Twine, in which Urianger deduces a means in which to revive it. Though it was on a correct line of thought, there was still a vital component missing: leonite, which serves as the heart of a Talos.
And with this, we set off to a near-abandoned mine in search of any remnants of leonite to gather. After some unconventional mining methods, we do come across exactly what we needed, but with an added bonus to it: writings from Magnus's wife; a parting gift.
