This video by Edwin Braun shows the new enhancement how fluids interact with rigid bodies in a physically correct way - awesome enhancement made to the buoyancy.
0:35 - Scene Setup
- Rigid Body DynamicSet: ObjToParticle - assign the BTRigidBody, etc.
- FluidParticles: FlowEmitter will need a particle input - created here with the ObjToParticle and the Point helper,
- Control the flow of fluid using the ValueToValue set it an initial high flow rate and then reduce over time for this sim example, so that the pool in this sim does not runneth over :)
1:54 - Forces
- gravity
- sim : multi physics: there are two solvers here: FlowSolver and BulletPhysics. This is the setup for any kind of multi-physics interaction : be clear what is controlling what.
2:25 - set the FlowGroup and Boundaries
- Surface, we use ImplicitShape tool (fluid surface)
- real time sim while recording : no time lag and not possible in previous versions of TP, now we have it!
3:32 - Proving it's real time simulation !
- adjust mass of the pyramid and make it as light as 1.0 resembling a thin plastic container,
- replay and you will see the 'pyramid' now bouncing around with the fluid as its mass is very light.
- now we increase the mass and watch the replay: the pyramid does not move now and the water flows around it.
